Construction Progress in Transmission Line Works
The contract has been signed with Cosmic Electrical Engineering Associates Private Limited for Check survey, Design, Supply, Manufacturing, factory testing (inspection and approval by the Employer), Delivery, Erection/ Installation and Testing & Commissioning of all necessary works for completion of 9 km long, 220 kV D/C transmission line on June 07, 2020. The Contractor has already mobilized its team to carry out check survey and has been working on the design aspects of the works.
The 220 kV transmission line will start from the switchyard of Middle Tamor Hydropower Project and will be connected in the switchyard of Dhunge-Sanghu sub-station of NEA in Taplejung. The transmission line passes through a hilly terrain.
The overall progress of the transmission line works is in line with the RCOD of the Project. The detail survey of finalized route has been carried out. The transmission line is proposed in such a way that the social and environment issues, Right of Way (RoW) complications and power losses are minimized. The Terms of Reference (ToR) for IEE has been approved by the Ministry of Forests and Environment and public hearings for IEE study were conducted. Feasibility study of transmission line have been completed and submitted to DoED. Till date, the Contractor has already completed check survey, soil investigation works and design of the tower. Further, manufacturing of tower elements in in progress in India and purchase order have already been issued for import.
